A non-governmental organization (NGO) established in
October 1992. Works with World Health Organization (WHO)
and others to address causes of hearing loss, such as
otitis media, congenital and hereditary deafness, noise-induced
hearing loss, ototoxic deafness and inner ear infections.

International Federation of Hard of Hearing

Registered charity and NGO with 45 general and associate
members in 29 countries. Joins with International Federation
for Hard of Hearing Young People to: provide a platform
for cooperation and exchange of information between
organizations for hard of hearing (HOH) people; support
and take part in investigation and research of hearing
disorders; and stimulate search for solutions to communication,
education, employment and other problems facing HOH
people in daily life. Publications: newsletter and biannual
magazine.
International Federation of Oto-Rhino-Laryngological

An NGO in official relationship with WHO. Mission: to
identify global oto-rhino-laryngological needs and propose
ways to prevent and treat them, prioritizing according
to impact on society. Publications: newsletter.
International Society of Audiology (ISA),

Seeking charitable organization status, ISA membership
is open to all people working in audiology (healthcare
or research) and to all organizations working in the
field. Organizes workshops and seminars, distributes
HI’s newsletter, advances interests of audiology
and related fields and hearing-impaired people. Humanitarian
Audiology committee coordinates philanthropic projects
globally. Publications: International Journal of Audiology.

World Federation of the Deaf (WFD),

associations of Deaf people. Members in 123 countries

education for Deaf people, access to information, services
